Scottie Sinclair is a cheat.
Or at least, that’s what the world thinks. After all, who would believe her own father secretly drugged her?
The tabloids have called ‘Game, Set, Match’ on Scottie’s career–but an offer at redemption, and more importantly revenge, may give her the chance at a clean serve.
Nico Kotas reigned the tennis world for almost a decade–until an injury took him from the baseline.
Now with a clear bill of health, he’s hungry for one last title. But his public image needs a new game plan — and according to his coach, his former rival’s daughter is the perfect advantage.
After being approached by her former coach, who she is not sure she has forgiven, she decides that entering Wimbledon as both a singles and mixed doubles player might help her, and Nick. But as they spend more time on the court, they start to develop feelings that aren't exactly about tennis. This is a bit of an age gap in this romance, with him being about 8 years older I think.
As a tennis player, I wasn't too upset about how the tennis was written within the story. Scottie had a deep love for the sport that was almost completely ruined by her father. Nick also loves the sport, but wants to prove he can get one more title before retiring due to a bad knee. I do think his injury could have been a bit different, since it was a 'botched' knee replacement, but I digress.
I am excited to see more tennis in the sports romance world, and this definitely had a lot of spice once it got there. Overall, I did really enjoy this book and the tennis within it.
I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.
