Book Review: Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

When the First Son falls for the Crown Prince, nothing can go wrong. Right?

Alex Claremont-Diaz is the son of the first female president of the United States and makes up the White House Trio with his sister and the vice president's granddaughter.

They find themselves always under the eye of the media, mentioned in magazines , gossip articles and trying to keep everything today as their mother starts to run for her second term.

While attending the royal wedding of Prince Phillip, he runs into his long time nemesis, Prince Henry. They end up in the tabloids after an argument causes them to tip over an expensive wedding cake.

To keep from causing an international incident, they are told to play at friendship instead. Both agreeing to a few meetings here and there, that will be heavily photographed, to sell their fake-friendship and keep everything calm.

What Alex doesn't expect is to find himself falling in love with Henry. They are forced to hide their relationship from everyone, especially Henry's family. As they try to figure out how to meet and not get caught, they start jumping through a lot of hoops to try to make everything work. When they end up getting caught, they start to struggle with what might be the most important to them.

I had adore this book since it first came out in 2019. It's a fun Romeo and Juliet like story with the risk being a horrible international relations. The reason I chose to review this book now is because a movie version is coming to Amazon later today and I figured to spread the excitement I'd add my review here.

I am super excited to see how the book translates onto the screen and what changes they may make to bits of the story.

Have you read this book? What did you think? Let me know what you think of the movie?!
