My Favorites: Fall Out Boy Part 2

Well, it seems like it is now time for post hiatus Fall Out Boy favorites. Now, I will admit not every CD after the hiatus was my favorite, usually only a few songs every stuck out, but in honor of So Much (for) Stardust, here is my list of all my favorite songs post-hiatus.

Save Rock and Roll - Alone Together

To begin, I should bring up that when My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark came out, randomly released as an announcement they were back, I listened to it on repeat instead of paying attention to my physics class that day. That song will always mean a lot to me, it was an intro back to the band and used in my hockey games. Alone Together is a song that hit me pretty deep at the time it came out. The lyrics felt close to me at the time and even know its still a go to when I need some comfort. I think this album was, and still is, my favorite post-hiatus. Favorite lyric: This is the road to ruin, and we started at the end.

American Beauty/American Psycho - The Kids Aren't Alright

This album was a hard one for me, I never felt super connected to it and only a few songs really ever stuck out to me. I could go without hearing Uma Thurman again, just based on how much it was overplayed. This song was slower, I feel it more in my soul when I listen to it. I wish there were more songs on this album that meant more to me, but honestly this and Centuries are sort of it. Favorite lyric: It's our time now if you want it to be.

Mania - The Last of the Real Ones

Mania, hands down, is the album I have listened to the least. It felt far off from the Fall Out Boy I liked so much as a teen. But when I say this song was something else to me. It was deep, it the lyrics felt right when I heard it, and even now is the only song I really ever listen to on this album. The tone of the song, the way it talks about love, there is just something both lovely and dark about it. Favorite lyric: I wonder if your therapist knows everything about me.

Now, there are only two songs off of the new album that they have released at the time of me writing this. Both of them give me the vibes I've missed from Fall Out Boy and I'm excited to see what the new album is like. Currently, without much more information about the album, my favorite song is Heartbreak Feels so Good, but I guess we'll have to have an update once the rest is out March 24th.

Do you have a favorite Fall Out Boy song or album? Do you love or hate them? Who is your favorite comfort band, I'd love to know.
