February was a month were I had a lot of ARCs to read before the 20th. Which was both super cool and super stressful at times. I love that this blog has given me a chance to read books early and a lot of them were very anticipated for me, plus some that were unexpected favorites. February is also my birthday month which makes it a little more exciting than it is for most people. Without further ado, here is my reads for February!

Improbably Meet-Cute Collection

This collection of short stories was so fun to read and definitely a fun way to celebrate all the love in the beginning of the month.

Each story within this collection has a funny, quirky meet-cute story, some had me laughing at how ridiculous, others involved curses and some involved royalty. I know I had a whole blog about these, so please check it out.

This collection was a nice break from longer books and was a fun read!

My Fair Brady by Brain D. Kennedy

My Fair Brady is a young adult book about Wade Westmore, a senior who is used to the spotlight and ready to stare in the spring musical. When he is broken up with on Valentine's Day and then cast as a secondary character in My Fair Lady he is determined to prove he is not as self-involved as everything thinks.

Elijah Brady is used to being overlooked. A sophomore with a crush on someone who barely notices him, he decides to join crew for the musical. As he starts to make friends with the other crew members, he also gets noticed by Wade, who he asks to help him learn about confidence.

But as the boys start to hang out more, they start to learn more about what they want and who they want to be.

Night for Day by Roselle Lim

Night for Day is an adult fantasy/romance novel that follows two exes who never expected to run into each other in London after breaking up when moving across the US from each other.

When they decide to give their relationship another shot, after both accepting positions in London, they find themselves sucked into a world of immortal beings and ghosts.

Both of them become trapped in their places of employment, having to solve riddles and trust unlikely characters to escape and both make it out alive. As they work together, while apart, they realize they are pawns in a war between Gods.

Fangirl Down by Tessa Bailey

Josephine Doyle is the number one, and only fan, of golfer Wells Whitaker. When he finally loses it and breaks her sign, she decides its time to give up her support. But Wells can't shake the feeling he needs her support, especially since she had won a lunch with him that he didn't go to.

When going to apologize, he finds the pro shop she runs in disarray after a hurricane. He offers to pay for repairs but Josephine refuses, so instead he offers her job. She will caddy for him if he can get into the next tournament and will use what she makes from that to fix the shop.

What Wells, and Josephine, don't expect is their banter to turn into real feelings while they work together to get Wells back on track.

Instant Karma by Marissa Meyer

Prudence Barnett is a chronic overachiever and quick to cast judgement on those who aren't like her. When she wakes up after a night out with friends with the ability to cause karmic justice instantly, she feels like a superhero.

She is quick to use her power on town gossips and people who are talking about her brother. But there is one person the ability doesn't seem to work on. Actually, it seems to backfire completely, and that is Quint Erickson. Her lazy lab partner that she is now trying to convince to help her re-do their project from the semester, because a C is not acceptable.

He agrees to help, if she volunteers at the sea like rehabilitation center for the summer. This book was really adorable and I'm excited to read the next on in this town.

One in a Millennial by Kate Kennedy

My non-fiction book of this month! This book is a series of essays by Kate Kennedy about being raised as a millennial and how that has lead to different things in her life.

Kate Kennedy is a pop culture commentator, with some wild stories about how she grew up, how that effected some of her future and overall remember things that embarrassed all millennials everywhere. She does a lot with going through the lessons she learned, in stories that span from childhood through the present.

Overall, I enjoyed some of her stories, but there was a sense of chaos in some of it. I think I learned essays aren't for me but I do think the overall topic was really interesting and fun to read.

Canadian Boyfriend by Jenny Holiday

Aurora Evans was a teenager when she made up her 'fake Canadian boyfriend' after meeting a hockey player while working at Mall of America. It was her way to pretend someone cared, and gave her an out on many situations. Now a dance teacher at a local studio, Aurora is shocked to when Mike Martin walks in with his daughter.

His wife has recently passed away, and he is looking for something consistent. His daughter only seems to behave when Aurora is around. Mike starts to feel more and more comfortable with Aurora, but Aurora starts to think this Mike might be the one she meet years ago in the mall. The hockey player she wrote letters to for many years. Now she has to figure out if she should tell him about her fake Canadian boyfriend or not.

A Tempest of Tea by Hafsah Faizal

Arthie Casimir deals in secrets, she also runs one of the most successful teahouses in White Roaring. A teahouse that doubles as a bloodhouse at night, for the vampires that society looks down upon. When her teahouse is threatened, Arthie makes a deal with an unlikely source to help save it.

The heist is to steal from the vampires, a document that could expose the leaders of White Roaring and help Arthie. But to make the heist work she is going to need a team and the team is going to have to be good.

As her and her bestfriend/brother Jin work on getting the team together, secrets of their own start to come to the surface. Arthie has tried to keep certain things hidden for years, but now more and more seems to be coming to light as they try for the heist.
