What I Read: March 2024

March, apparently, was my low reading month of this year. That being said, I'm still over 25 books for the year, so we really aren't struggling.

Everything For You by Chloe Liese

This book was a random pickup while in the Midway Airport on the way to New York.

Oliver Bergman is a beloved soccer star, who is named co-captain with Gavin Hayes. The problem? Gavin Hayes seems to hate Oliver, and they now need to work together for the sake of the team. When they are told that they have to get along or lose their captain status, they start to realize that they have a lot of chemistry.

When they start to fall for each other off the field, Gavin becomes worried about his breaking body and age difference, whereas Oliver just hopes to keep their relationship strong and help their team grow. I thought this book was really cute, and am excited to look into the other Bergman brothers books.

After being held back most of her life, Abbey finds herself in a love triangle that could mess up everything.

Every Time You Hear That Song by Jenna Voris

Darren Purchase is an inspiring journalist who lives in small town she is hoping to leave behind. She is a longtime fan of Decklee Cassel a famous country singer known for her songs written by Mickenlee Hooper. When Decklee passes away, her long-awaited time capsule is supposed to be opened, but it is found empty.

This leads to a scavenger hunt of a lifetime, that Darren goes on with her friend Kendall. But when they find themselves working against a famous influencer and uncovering secrets from Decklee's life, Darren starts to wonder if her hero was really a good person.

I adored this book, I loved the message behind it and the country music vibes within it.

Women in Science: 50 Fearless Pioneers Who Changed the World by Rachel Ignotofsky

My non-fiction pick of this month went along with Woman's History Month as well as my career in science. This book is an illustrated book for all ages, that I bought at a science museum a few years ago.

The book takes time to tell 50 stories of women who made movements within the world of science from all around the world. From women who were scientists and actresses to those who made huge changes in the world today. It was a really fun book to look through on my own but would be great for kids too. The illustrations are very unique but in a way that makes the book super interesting.
