Your Guide to Cute Bookish Couples!

Though I know Valentine's Day isn't everyone's cup of tea, sometimes we need a good, fluffy book to make us feel warm inside during the cold months of winter.

Today I present you with a list of some of my favorite bookish couples and how their stories can help break up the winter blues. In hopes of having a variety, some of these books are graphic novels, others are more 'paranormal' and some are just plain cute. But all of them have couples you will find yourself 'stanning' over by the end over the novel.

As another 'side note', there are a few books I was going to put on this list, but decided to make a 'weather book' list instead, so be sure to look out for that soon!

Heartstopper by Alice Oseman

Heartstopper is a young adult graphic novel by Alice Oseman that follows Charlie Spring, an openly-gay overthinker, and Nick Nelson, a slightly older rugby player one their journey to friendship and eventually love.

There are currently 4 volumes, a well as a novella called 'Nick and Charlie', with a 5th and final volume expected sometime soon (hopefully). This story follows the boys through Nick discovering his own sexuality, to Charlie having to get treatment for an eating disorder. As well as both of them navigating their relationship with their friends, teammates and parents. This book is full of soft-boy moments and heartwarming conversations. As a graphic novel its easy to read with really cute art.

As a bonus, there is an adaptation on Netflix I also really recommend.

The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston

Florence Day is a ghostwriter for one of the most famous romance writers in the industry, but after a breakup she is not sure if love exists anymore. She meets her new book editor, who refuses to give her an extension. Florence is then forced back to her hometown upon the death of her father, a place she has avoided for many years.

When she gets there, she is greeted by a ghost on the doorstep and its not exactly someone she was planning on seeing. Now she has to struggle with finding the unfinished business of her new editor, while mourning the loss of her father.

Now I know what you are thinking, this isn't a love story, but I'm going to need you to trust me when I say it definitely is and its also definitely worth you reading. Florence's history with seeing ghosts, and how it connects to her hometown. Her parents love story and how that impacts her love for romance books.

This book is a lovely story, about finding love in the most unexpected of places, while also dealing with family drama and work drama.

Book Lovers by Emily Henry

Nora Stephens, a notably literary agent, finds herself in North Carolina after her sister begs her to go on a much needed sisters trip. While there she runs into Charlie Lastra, a book editor from back in NYC, who has never been much of 'knight in shining armor'.

They end up running into each other multiple times on the trip, mostly coincidences, but also because the town is so small. During these encounters they learn more about themselves and each other, and how some of their choices have deeply impacted the people around them.

I have read most of Emily Henry's books, and honestly I'm a sucker of author or literary main characters.

There is just something about it that I really enjoy and this book was no different.

Shipped by Meredith Tate

Stella Greene, and her rival Wesley Clarke are in constant competition in their school, both striving for the valedictorian scholarship.

But they both have a secret, that brings them closer to each other than they think. They are both fans of a popular sci-fi show, and find each other under aliases on an online forum. During this time, they learn they are both going to a convention, and decide its finally time for them to meet, in real life.

This story is told from both of their perspectives, with both their school interactions and the texts they share under their aliases.

This story is a cute nerdy story, with two teens who just want someone who understands them.

Another young adult book, but definitely worth a read at any age!

This list could go on and on, but these are some of the books I wanted to feature! As mentioned before, I am also compiling a list of weather/science themed books! So look out for that!

What are some of your favorite book couples? Are they in a rom-com or a more serious story? Let me know in a comment!
